Synopsis

Five years after surviving Art the Clown's Halloween massacre, Sienna and Jonathan are still struggling to rebuild their shattered lives. As the holiday season approaches, they try to embrace the Christmas spirit and leave the horrors of the past behind. But just when they think they're safe, Art returns, determined to turn their holiday cheer into a new nightmare. The festive season quickly unravels as Art unleashes his twisted brand of terror, proving that no holiday is safe.

After being beheaded by Sienna Shaw, Art the Clown's decapitated body reanimates inside the Terrifier haunted house, strangles and decapitates a police officer responding to the incident before making its way to the asylum where survivor Victoria Heyes, now possessed by the Little Pale Girl, has just given birth to Art's head. Art reattaches his head to his body shortly after he and Victoria kill a nurse and a guard before entering an abandoned house and going into hibernation. Five years later, Sienna is released from a mental health center to stay with her aunt Jess, her uncle Greg, and her cousin Gabbie, who idolizes Sienna but has no knowledge of the events she endured. Sienna is suffering from survivor's guilt and experiences PTSD induced hallucinations of deceased people who Art killed, including that of her best friend Brooke, whose death she feels responsible for. She struggles to reconnect with her younger brother Jonathan, who is now in college. Art and Victoria are woken by two demolition workers; they kill the workers. Art then shoots two men dead, kills a Santa Claus impersonator at a bar using liquid nitrogen and takes his Santa costume. At 3 a.m., he invades the house of an innocent family and brutally butchers them with an axe. In the morning, Art poses as a mall Santa and uses explosives disguised as presents to kill several people, many of them children. Sienna thinks she sees Art at the mall in disguise before the explosion but does not tell her family out of fear that they will not believe her. Sienna visits Jonathan at his university, where she meets Jonathan's roommate Cole and his girlfriend Mia, who hosts a true crime podcast. Mia pressures Sienna and Jonathan to participate in an interview about the Miles County Massacre, but Sienna lashes out. Sienna confesses to Jonathan that she thinks Art is still alive, and she shows Jonathan a letter that he wrote to her while she was in the psychiatric hospital, which states that demons can come into our world via possessing hosts like Victoria with the help of evil and depraved killers like Art. She tells Jonathan that she plans to return to the Terrifier carnival to retrieve their father's sword. Art arrives at the university and kills Mia and Cole with a chainsaw while they're having sex in the shower. Sienna learns about the mall killings on the news and panics, commanding Jonathan to return home from college and warning the family that they are not safe. Greg leaves to collect Jonathan while Sienna falls asleep. She dreams of her father and of the angels crafting the armor from her warrior costume that he drew for her. Sienna awakens to hear Jess and Greg downstairs discussing what they should do about her worsening condition. When she walks into the dining room, Sienna instead finds Art and Victoria decorating Greg's decapitated and eviscerated body pinned to the wall. Sienna tries to escape but is incapacitated by Art with a mallet. Sienna regains consciousness and finds herself and Jess tied to chairs with their mouths taped shut. Victoria shows them a skinless head being consumed by rats, telling Jess that it is Gabbie's head. Art and Victoria kill Jess by hammering a tube into her throat, forcing rats down it and slitting her throat. Art enters with Gabbie as a hostage, and Victoria tells Sienna that the head is actually Jonathan's head. Victoria places a crown of thorns on Sienna's head and tries to possess her, but she resists. Before Sienna and Gabbie could be sentenced to death, the latter pleads for Sienna to open a present of hers, which, unbeknownst to Victoria, contains Sienna's sword. Art smashes both of Sienna's hands then cuts her bonds so she can open up her present. Sienna then uses the sword to cut Art's throat and decapitate Victoria. As Art and Sienna battle each other, Victoria's body disintegrates and turns into a pool of demonic blood that burns through the floor and opens a portal to Hell, putting Gabbie's life in danger. Despite Sienna's efforts, Gabbie falls into the abyss with the sword. Art seizes his opportunity to escape through a window and boards a city bus, whilst Sienna looks down at her wounded hands as they heal, vowing to find and rescue Gabbie.

a dog dies
spoiler There are no dogs.
someone is sexually assaulted
spoiler No, and I don’t feel a guy getting a chainsaw up his butt cheeks up to his back is a sexual assault. A brutal act, but not a sexual one at all. The lead actor who kills the guy has said his character is not interested in sex and that the line he will not cross is any sexual abuse and would in fact refuse to act in a scene like that.
an animal dies
spoiler id walk out at about 42 minutes in for the nitrogen scene. i had my boyfriend text me when to come back in around 2 minutes later. maybe wait 3 or four to be safe. movie started at 5:20 scene started around 6:04 and he said it was over around 6:06. just make sure to leave a bit before and comeback a bit later to be extra safe. there was no sound or distress from the rats but visually graphic. not sure the time frame for the second rat scene because we decided to see a different movie cause i was uncomfortable but others say it’s around 1 hour 40 minutes in. (and of course, none were hurt in the making. you can search up how they did it to keep the rats safe if you’d like <3)
animals were harmed in the making
spoiler From HumaneHollywood.com: In the scene where the two actors walk into a basement and see a couple of rats on the floor, the trainer brought the rats out from their containers and placed them on their marks. The production enclosed the set with chicken wire and wooden boards to prevent the rats from escaping. On action, the rats freely roamed the enclosed set, exhibiting natural behaviors. On cut, handlers collected the rats and returned them to their containers. In the scene where two actors are held captive, and the man places a jar on the table with a severed head with rats crawling on it, prior to filming we inspected the fake prop human head to ensure it was safe for the rats. The fake blood make-up that had been applied to the prop head was safe for the rats to come into contact with. Prior to filming, wranglers carried the rats and placed them in prop cage. They filmed them crawling on the prop head for a few mins. In the scene where a rat is placed in a tube and crawls into a person’s mouth, this scene was achieved by using a prop dummy that was safe for the rats. Once a couple rats are placed in the tube, the killer slits the person’s throat and the rats spill out of the fake throat. Prior to filming, we checked the set over for potential hazards. We also inspected the prop dummy, plastic tube, and prop cage with the fake human head to ensure it was safe. When production was ready to film the animal action, handlers removed rats from the holding container and placed them in a small carrier. The rats’ action in the first set-up was to walk through the plastic tube toward the dummy’s mouth. On action, the handler removed a rat from the carrying container and released the animal into the opening of the plastic tube. The rat freely walked through the tube toward the dummy’s mouth. When the rat reached the end of the tube, the handler collected the rat. Production added light movement to the dummy to make it look like it was a living person. On cut, handler Steve placed the rat back in the carrying container.
there's a dead animal
spoiler Dead rats
an animal is sad
spoiler Not really. Rats seem extremely unfazed. The first rat is killed after being blasted with liquid nitrogen and didn’t have time to be distressed. The other rats start to eat the remains of the shattered rat, which to me doesn’t denote “distress” or being too sad about their fellow street rat buddy. Later on, and I am trying to explain this as politely as I can, a victim has a large plastic tunnel jammed down their throat and at least two rats get dropped in. The rats do not seem sad, but you can’t see their faces. Trust me, the rats are MUCH less distressed than the victim is in the whole scenario.
rabbits are harmed
spoiler No
a dragon dies
Yes
a cat dies
Yes
animals are abused
spoiler One rat is frozen and smashed. Others are kicked (offscreen). Several rats are also forced down a tube into a woman’s mouth/throat and encouraged via a small flame thrower. The woman’s throat is then slit and several bloody (still living) rats emerge from the wound.
there are bugs
Yes
there's dog fighting
spoiler There are no dogs in this movie
a pet dies
spoiler Rats are killed. No pets but a rat (SPOILERS) is frozen and then stepped on, dead rats are then used to torture someone.
a horse dies
Yes
there are spiders
spoiler This film is spider-free. There are tons of (cob)webs in an abandoned house scene, but I made sure they weren't housing any bugs.
a child is abandoned by a parent or guardian
spoiler Not willingly…
someone leaves without saying goodbye
Yes
there's child abuse
spoiler Unlike the other entries in the series, there are SEVERAL children killed in this film. One child is dismembered with an axe in the cold open of the film, his dismembered body then later shown. Several children are also killed in an explosion at a mall when one of them opens a bomb disguised as a Christmas present.
a woman is brutalized for spectacle
spoiler Both men and women are brutalized the entire movie
there's domestic violence
Yes
the abused forgives their abuser
spoiler that is because she is possessed! she doesn't forgive him of her own free will
someone gets gaslighted
spoiler One thing that triggered me was the way Sienna was treated by her aunt and uncle . They judge her for being traumatized and reacting normal, and belive she is a danger to them and their child. This Also makes Sienna feel like what she experience is her being crazy. But it completely normal react to what she been through and them looking down on her hurts from someone that experience similar and been alienated by family because of aftermath and mental health struggles . Also the way she is blamed for murderes and her experience romantized.
the abused becomes the abuser
spoiler It is clear throughout the movie that Vicki is possessed, and isn’t even alive anymore. So no, the abused does not become the abuser even though it may appear that way to someone who is not paying any attention.
someone is stalked
spoiler kind of the plot of the whole movie 😭 not really a spoiler but yeah, Art is obviously stalking Sierra and her family
there's addiction
spoiler Not addiction, but Sienna and Jonathan are both seen taking prescription medications, however there is no way of telling if there is any type of dependency.
alcohol abuse
spoiler There is a scene where Art The Clown takes a shot and spits it back in someone's face but alcohol is not abused
someone uses drugs
spoiler Prescribed medication, but yes.
someone is sexually assaulted onscreen
spoiler The thing possessing Vicky stabs her in the vagina with a shard of glass repeatedly. I found it triggering.
there's pedophilia
Yes
sexual assault on men is a joke
spoiler NO, it’s an assault but NOT a sexual one and it’s NOT played for laughs. No one is sexually assaulted in the movie, male or female. Just hacked up into pieces… I have been in contact with the writer/director and the actor who plays Art, and trust me, they do not find anything amusing about sexual assault for any gender.
someone is drugged
Yes
a woman gets slapped
spoiler SPOILERS**** the main character gets slapped repeatedly by Art the Clown while she is tied up with duct tape near the ending of the film
someone is beaten up by a bully
Yes
someone's mouth is covered
spoiler Several characters are restrained and have their mouths covered with duct tape. Sienna’s face is also pushed into the stomach of a disemboweled body and struggles to breathe.
someone is held under water
spoiler ~~mild spoilers, i would say yes, in a way. near the end of the movie there are flashbacks to sienna trapped in a glass box of water like the ones magicians/escape artists use to escape from
someone is restrained
spoiler SPOILERS**** the first time is with the Santa at the bar, after his friends are killed he is tied up and then tortured with liquid nitrogen. The second time is in the ending part of the film where characters are tied up to a chair and have duct tape on their mouths which is later removed. One character is killed whilst in these restraints and the other is released brutally by smashing the hands. Characters are also periodically physically restrained by another character, specifically near the end in the same scene listed above
rape is mentioned
spoiler Fortunately, the killer has no interest in sexual abuse or rape. The actor who plays him has said numerous times he would never agree to film anything like that, as it’s a line he won’t cross.
there's eye mutilation
spoiler There is a scene in the shower where Art kills two people (man and woman having sex). He uses a chainsaw to dismember, torture, and kill them. He cuts their head in half so eye mutilation does appear on screen.
there's excessive gore
spoiler Yes, be aware this movie is only for those with a very strong stomach for gore. The movie is unrated because the writer/director refused to tone down the gore enough for an R rating.
there's torture
spoiler Several prolonged scenes of torture throughout.
there's genital trauma/mutilation
spoiler Art cuts a man in half with a chainsaw starting at his buttocks, eventually chainsawing through his penis and testicles. Vicki vigorously masturbates using a shard of broken glass and piles of blood fall to the floor.
there's body horror
spoiler All kinds! SPOILER WARNING FOR EXAMPLES S P O I L E R !! One killer had her face eaten off but lived through it.(shown in Terrifier 2016) It was reconstructed over a year in the hospital but she still frightens small children. So she goes insane and homicidal and creeps around with no lips, teeth exposed, one eye missing, the other eye looking inhuman, and it does not look like a human face anymore. Later the same character gets a shard of broken glass, put it under her skirt between her legs, and, uh, “touches herself” with it. We see blood pouring down the inside of her legs. We don’t see the glass actually make contact as she does it under her skirt, but ouch. A woman has live rats forced down her throat and there’s a shot of her lower neck bulging and twisting as the rats got down that low. Her throat is cut and the bloody but live rats burst through. Some of the worst is in a scene where a man is tied to a chair and blasted with liquid nitrogen, Art does his lower legs first, then hits them with a hammer until they shatter. At the end he blasts the guy’s face and shatters a large section of his face, very gory, his nose is gone. The final shot shows his one remaining eye darting around, meaning he was still alive and Art left him to die later. Now THAT is body horror!
there's finger/toe mutilation
spoiler Many fingers cut, broken, and bitten off
teeth are damaged
Yes
there are hangings
spoiler someone is choked with an intestine, which may be potentially triggering if you don’t like hanging
someone is burned alive
spoiler No, no one is “burned alive”, SPOILER WARNING space- S p O I L E R !! We do not see adults and children burn alive. They are all blown up by a sudden explosion and the explosion was so close to them. We see a little boy opening a gift Art left him, start to open the lid, and then they cut to a far away shot of that part of the mall exploding-the present contained a deadly bomb Art made. No one catches fire when a very large bomb explodes that close to them. The aftermath shows parts of what used to be people, but no burned bodies. The news says at least four or five people are dead (ages not given).
someone's throat is mutilated
spoiler Lots of decapitations, slit throat.
there's cannibalism
spoiler Art eats some fingers and other flesh
there's shaving/cutting
spoiler Non stop graphic cutting/sawing/hacking/stabbing throughout the entire film.
someone is buried alive
Yes
there's amputation
Yes
someone struggles to breathe
spoiler SPOILERS As well as the other mentions, somebody's face is shoved into the split stomach of another person and they struggle to breathe, and the same character is then choked with an intestine and has to bite through it to breathe again.
someone asphyxiates
Yes
somebody is choked
Yes
hands are damaged
spoiler There are HORRIBLE things done to several characters hands, to the point where if that is a trigger you may want to hold off on seeing this movie. Hands are destroyed with the exception of one character who heals.
someone is stabbed
Yes
someone dislocates something
spoiler Plenty, most in places on someone’s body that even made me wince, and I have a strong stomach when it comes to gore.
someone falls down stairs
spoiler S P O I L E R Like in the trailer, art drags sienna down the stairs, but she doesn’t fall
someone falls to their death
spoiler S P O I L E R In the ending, someone falls down an endless pit after a long scene where they try to hold on and fail. It is unclear if they died.
Someone becomes unconscious
spoiler During the final section Sienna is knocked out with a blow to the head and wakes up an unspecified time later (seconds in actual time) tied to a chair.
someone breaks a bone
spoiler At one point a character tries to walk on a partially amputated leg and it breaks, this could be very triggering if you don't like bones breaking. It's during the shower scene.
there's decapitation
spoiler Quite a few. A policeman is decapitated by a character with no head who suddenly comes alive. Then they show him riding on a bus, holding the cop’s decapitated head up where his head should be. We also see At’s decapitated head (which is explained by the mid-credits scene of the previous movie) still alive and grinning with some sort of inflating flesh tube coming out of the bottom, which looks pretty horrific. A character’s head is cut off (offscreen) and the gory severed head is used to decorate the top of a Christmas tree. There’s a head that has been partially eaten by rats shown sitting in a birdcage, very messy. And those are just off the top of my head (no pun intended). A child is decapitated with an axe and their body is chopped up, but offscreen (though we hear the axe slamming into flesh at least six times), but the poor kid don’t have time to scream. We do see the grisly aftermath as the mother finds her son hacked to pieces. As you probably have heard, children do get killed gruesomely in this movie, though we do not see the attack, it’s still probably something you should take a pass on if you are triggered by the gruesome aftermath of a child who was killed.
heads get squashed
spoiler Most kills involve extensive head trauma and facial disfigurement. Please do not take this caution lightly. If you are triggered by injuries to the head/face of any kind, you should avoid this film.

spoiler Rat's are killed in several different ways and their squeaks of terror are heard
a major character dies
spoiler It is revealed to Sienna that a badly mutilated severed head in a bird cage being eaten by rats in front of her is actually the head of her brother, Jonathan.
someone dies
spoiler Many, many insanely graphic deaths in the film.
someone sacrifices themselves
spoiler Sienna tells Art to “take her instead” At one point but it doesn’t actually happen.
a parent dies
spoiler A mother and father die. The daughter sees both of their tortured and mutilated bodies.
A child's dear toy is destroyed
spoiler Many toys are destroyed but no significant ones. Nothing sentimental.
a family member dies
spoiler Family members are killed in front of each other in this film, and multiple people discover the bodies of family members.
someone is kidnapped
spoiler Nobody is kidnapped as such but someone is knocked out and wakes up restrained.
there are jump scares
Yes

spoiler the scene described above uses broken glass. art used very few weapons like his set from the first movie. there are no specific razors.
someone is possessed
spoiler There is a heavy possession element to the film, particularly with Vicky’s character.
there are clowns
spoiler The main antagonist is a clown
there are shower scenes
spoiler The shower scene starts as a sex scene then the two characters are killed by Art.
there's ghosts
spoiler kind of- it’s up to your interpretation as to if art is a ghost/spirit/demon etc
there are mannequins
spoiler Very, very mild spoiler: Art and Vicki remain in fixed positions for five years in an abandoned house. They don't move, not even to blink. When two human workers come to clean up the house they find them and one believes Art is a creepy statue/mannequin/doll. They both of course spring to life with human contact in an incredible jumpscare. This may trigger people who fear mannequins.
trypophobic content is shown
spoiler In the last 10-20m of the movie. A woman is in the family house kneeling on the ground and looking at injuries on her hands. During this scene, there is a big dried lotus root on the table next to her. It is almost funny to me to be disturbed by it after all the horrible things in the movie but i guess that's why it's called a phobia heh heh.

Someone attempts suicide
spoiler -SPOILER- Vicki commits suicide but doesn’t die
someone self harms
spoiler A woman seemingly attempts suicide through cutting her wrist, it is a very intense and detailed scene. To the commenter, I don't have a time estimate but it's when she sits in a bathtub in a dilapidated house, just after you see art in a rocking chair by the window, close your eyes when she gets into the bath. The film cuts back and forth a few times but you can tell when it's over by audio cues. It is very graphic.
there's misophonia
spoiler There is a lot of squelching noises from people being stabbed or mutilated and one scene where art eats a cookie and you can hear the sound of crunching but it is quiet and not too bad.

Art (the antagonist) dresses up like Santa for most of the movie, murdering people in horrible ways, A mall Santa is killed horribly and THOSE poor kids find out what he has in his bag is NOT presents, and they run away screaming.. So I’m pretty sure that counts as Santa being spoiled, with lots of gore accompanying it. These moments are in the red band trailer, and the original teaser.
